HOLLAND HAUS Architectural Vision Holland HAUS presents as a transitional project, linking the traditional urban center of historic downtown Bradford with the contemporary development of suburban Bradford. TheProject, as a Mixed-Use Development, presents as a traditionally proportioned commercial base with a contemporary residential mid rise Apartment above, along Holland Street and as a low-rise Townhouse block along John Street Contextually, this interweaving of traditional land contemporary motifs, mid rise and low rise, is a direct reference to the intersection of the contrasting partis to the surrounds of the HollandHAUS Additionally, the Urban Parkette, that is at the center of the site, acts as the hub and building separator, which is publicly accessible and allows for through block pedestrian access The urban design reference of the Holland HAUS is satisfied such that the 8 storey Apartment Building forms a counterpoint to the existing 8storey apartment building directly south of the site While, the 3 storeyTownhouses provide a transition to the predominately low-rise single family residential along John Street Holland HAUS creates a western‘ to Downtown Bradford, and acts as a centroid at the confluence of these divergent visions of civic life, and the disparate scales of civic building
